Weigh in

Another 2½ lbs off 🙂

That’s a total of 9lb in 3 weeks.

It’s been hard going some days but worth it to see the results on the scales.  i don’t look any different yet, but that will come…

We did Salsacise last night, it was lots of fun and a nice change from aerobics.  I just wish I was more co-ordinated.  I can’t keep time when I’m dancing, my body just won’t let me.  Odd really, as I love singing and I can play music in time.  It’s my legs that let me down!

…Little’un was not getting the idea so I have decided to wait, probably until Easter when (hopefully) the weather will be warmer and I have a long weekend off work.

She has a cough, and every time she coughed yesterday, she did a wee.  Not really fair on anyone to continue under those circumstances.

We are going to spend the rest of the week doing fun things together, although that will probably have to start tomorrow as we both feel a bit rough with rattly chests this morning.

Three Things Meme

I’ve been tagged by  Pewari… it’s taken me a while to finish it but here goes…

Three Things that Scare Me:  The thought that I might sink into a black pit of depression again; that anything might happen to my family or friends; spiders – The Yorkshireman once chased me around the house with a big hairy brute in a pint glass and I actually hid in the wardrobe to get away from him.
Three People Who Make Me Laugh: Little’un, especially when she is making up stories; Peter Kay; The Yorkshireman in full rant mode
Three Things I Love: My PDA; my bed; dry white wine
Three Things I Hate: Having to work; the carpet in my hall/stairs/landing; having no dry white wine
Three Things I Don’t Understand: Mandarin Chinese; why people don’t respect each other more; why people don’t recycle more
Three Things On My Desk: a photo of Litte’un; skanky mug (empty); lots of stuff for filing
Three Things I Am Doing Right Now: wondering whether potty training Little’un was the right thing to do at this moment in time; fancying a glass of dry white wine; ignoring the washing up
Three Things I Want To Do Before I Die: Go to Glastonbury; do a 10k fun run; go on an epic train journey
Three Things I Can Do: sew (I made my own wedding dress); cook; drink dry white wine
Three Things You Should Listen To: Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd; advice from the people who love you most; the sound of wind and rain when you are safe indoors
Three Things You Should Never Listen To: Anything a politician says; anything sung by Jimmy Nail; The Yorkshireman doing DIY (this generally involves Swearing of the Highest Level, although to be fair, he is currently replacing all the kitchen cabinet doors with swearing not much in evidence at all.  It must be going well!)
Three Things I’d Like To Learn: Proper French; to play the guitar, heavy metal power chords included; how to lose weight without giving up dry white wine
Three Favorite Foods: Chocolate; Sweet & Sour Pork from our local Chinese Takeaway (they do it so much better than any other place I have tried – I dread to think how); home cooked roast dinners
Three Beverages I Drink Regularly: Diet Coke; peppermint tea; dry white wine
Three Books I Read as a Kid: Magician by Raymond E. Fiest – my first proper fantasy book and the reason why I am a bit geeky now; Little Women; What Katy Did

Ooooh, now who shall I tag?

I choose Babies Everywhere, Ellie & Helen

Weigh in

Another 1½ lb off this week – so a total of 6½ lb, annoyingly close to the half stone mark.

I’m not really sure why it was so much less this week although I don’t think I shed as much excess water as the previous week.

My daily calorie allowance has been upped now that I have finished the two week Kickstart Diet, although to be honest I haven’t really been paying much attention to calorie intake as such, it’s more a case of eating lots of low fat, low GI food and steering clear of the bad stuff.

I managed to stay off the plonk for the whole two weeks as per the Kick Start plan though 🙂 so last night to celebrate my achievement thus far I had a little(ish) vodka & diet coke and a couple of actual biscuits.  Yum.

Bloody Weather*

Wasn’t it windy here yesterday? (Apologies to any non-UK or near European readers. It was probably lovely where you are.) Every time I stepped outdoors I was dicing with death. There were crates and trays flying all over the site where I work and I even saw a plastic pallet-sized container being blown across the yard straight into some poor bugger’s delivery van. On the way home blown over lorries literally littered the drains down the side of the main road. A couple of them were still awaiting recovery this morning – there was one with a recovery guy standing next to his puny little truck scratching his head, clearly trying to figure out exactly how he was going to pull a 40ft articulated lorry out of the drain where it lay at around 145° from vertical; the vehicular equivalent of arse over tit I suppose.

Today in Lincolnshire it is bright and sunny with a very slight breeze whispering though the tree-tops. Normally when the weather is so clear on a January morning it is -5°C outside with frost and ice meaning that lorries end up upside down in ditches. Not this morning though. My car isn’t a posh new one that tells you what the external temperature is but I can report that there was no frost or ice and that it can’t have been any cooler than 5°C or so.

Who says that Global Warming isn’t a problem?

* this isn’t just random swearing. It’s a Quote from Monty Python’s Life of Brian. See, you get culture here and everything.

Weigh in

5 lb off this week 😀

That’s 2.25Kg for you metricky types.

I got a Slimmer of the Week certificate and everything, lol.

So that’s a load of excess water shed, now I am getting on with Lard Reduction.

The first couple of days were hard, it was a shock to the system to reduce my calorie intake by so much and I was permanently hungry.  Even though I didn’t stick to Rosemary’s recommended 1200kcal “Kick Start”, I still estimate that I have halved my calorific intake, especially when you take into account all that Christmas wine and choccy.  The hungriness passed though and now I am finding it fairly easy.

Lets hope it continues.
